So, I tried to apply for unemployment benefits, only to find out someone used my name and address to file a fraudulent claim. Short term disability ended on Nov 23rd, so no income since then. My medical bills are already over $10,000 and climbing. No one prepares you for having cancer, but they certainly don't prepare you for the devastating effect it takes on your finances. I start Chemotherapy on December 30th, a 6-month regiment, followed by radiation. I’m rated a high-risk stage 2 adenocarcinoma. The reports say no, but my surgeon says yes. So, they scheduled me to be operated on October 29th to do a colon resection to cut out all the diseased tissue. We did months of tests, several CT scans, and all these confirmed the original diagnosis. I had been suffering from what the doctors thought was diverticulitis since June 2020.
